Bars are a crafting material, made by smelting Ores in a Furnace. There are two material bars, Gold Bars and Iron Bars. Iron Bars are obtained with 4 Iron Ore, and 1 Coal, while Gold Bars need 8 Coal. Both are used to create Tools, and other things. Gold Bars can also be used to make Gold Apples and Gold Lanterns. Iron Bars can also be used to make Anvils, Buckets, and Iron Lanterns.
